Videos - amazing achievements

Today we watched two videos in class.  One was about Eric Duquette, a student with Autism who was named Salutatorian of his senior class.  The other was about another student with Autism, Jason McElwain who was the manager of his high school basketball team.  After watching these two videos we discuss the idea of challenges and excuses.

I believe that everyone has an excuse that they can point to when they fail.  Maybe it's a physical disability or a learning disability.  Maybe it's problems at home with family.  Some students are living in poverty, some students are bored or distracted.  We can all come up with an excuse.  But these two young men have overcome their limitations to achieve amazing things.  If they can do it, so can we.  We can choose to overcome these challenges and succeed in life.  We just have to want it!

What are your thoughts?
